The 2017 MDX reflects the carmaker’s “Aero Sculpture” design language. The design language adds several unique and brand-new features. New are Jewel Eye headlights with LED technology. The aerodynamics of the vehicle will be considerably improved thanks to the new design language. Apparently, the aerodynamic efficiency is improved for about 25 percent over the current model. The 55 percent of the body employs lightweight materials that improve vehicle’s rigidity, handling, and stability at the same time. The interior design of the 2017 Acura MDX will be mostly carried from the previous generation. Well, it might be a bit less angular though. The most noticeable thing in the cabin of the newcomer is a 9-speed automatic transmission with push-button feature. Just like any other Acura’s cabin, the MDX’s cabin emphasizes comfort, luxury, and ease-of-use.

All surfaces inside of the cabin are dressed up in premium leather and soft-touch materials for outstanding driving feel. Accessing the cabin of the newcomer is now easier with lower step-in height and wider entryway. Some of the features of the entry trim level are backup camera, keyless entry, three-zone climate control, multi-view angle camera, road departure mitigation, and many others. Powering the 2017 Acura MDX is a direct-injected 3.5-liter i-VTEC SOHC V-6 power-plant with power output of 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Nope, it is not a mistake- the new engine delivers 10 horsepower less than the current engine. Well, since the vehicle dropped off considerable amount of weight, this should compensate for the loss. The engine is linked up to a 9-speed automatic transmission with push-button interface. The transmission puts power down to the front wheels, but Super Handling AWD is also available.
