The Honda Ridgeline is a mid-size sport utility truck (SUT) produced by the Japanese automaker Honda. It was first introduced in March 2005 as a 2006 model and it was Honda’s first foray into the North American pickup truck market. Despite its low sales numbers, the Ridgeline was one of the more profitable vehicles for Honda, and just rivals such as Ford Ranchero, Chevrolet El Camino, and Subaru Baja trucks before it, the Ridgeline built a small, but loyal fan base. The Honda Ridgeline was nominated the Truck of the Year in 2006 by the Motor Trend magazine. The all-new 2015 Honda Ridgeline will be introduced at the Detroit Auto Show and many people are really looking forward to this vehicle.
2015 Honda Ridgeline Exterior
The exterior of the 2015 Honda Ridgeline takes on a more traditional pickup design and looks much more conventional. The Ridgeline keeps a unit-body construction and innovative features such as lockable trunk-like cargo space beneath the bed floor and tailgate which swings open like a door or swing down in a normal manner. The 2015 Honda Ridgeline shares its architecture with the Honda Pilot SUV and Acura MD, but the new pickup looks really appealing to those who prefer softer look.
Earlier, the Honda Ridgeline looked like combination of a pickup and an SUV, thanks to the sail panels, but now we no longer see them. Exterior will also include a crew cab body style and a new grille. The Ridgeline will have shorter but wider bed than most of other mid-size pickup truck. The surface is scratch-resistant and it also features a flat-bottom underfloor storage compartment with a 400-Watt AC power inverter to charge tools or plug-in some other equipment.
